At InMotion, our Speech Pathologists work with children to build strong communication skills, whether they’re just starting to speak, struggling to express themselves, or finding it hard to understand others. We help kids with speech clarity, language development, social communication, and even feeding challenges.

Our friendly team offers speech, language, voice, and stuttering assessments; swallowing assessments for ages 3 and up (with infant services coming soon); personalised therapy plans and home programs; reports tailored to your needs; school and home visits; support with advocacy and referrals; and education and training for schools and organisations.

Every child is unique, so we tailor our paediatric speech therapy to suit their needs, interests, and goals. Sessions are fun, interactive, and designed to feel like play, because that’s how kids learn best! We work closely with families, teachers, and health professionals to make sure progress continues beyond the clinic.

Feeding and swallowing issues

Therapy can take place at our clinic, your home, or your child’s school, wherever your child feels most comfortable. We also provide practical strategies for parents to use between sessions, so progress keeps rolling. We have occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and psychologists on site. SPEECH PATHOLOGY FAQS

1) What is a Speech Pathologist?

We get this question all the time! In short: Speech pathologists help people of all ages with talking, understanding, and swallowing - from first words to later in life. This includes understanding and using language, producing the correct speech sounds, pragmatics (social and non-verbal communication), stuttering and voice disorders.

2) Why is Speech Pathology important?
Everyone deserves the ability to communicate and understand - it’s a basic human right and key to connecting with the world around us. For some, this can be challenging due to conditions like stroke, brain injury, dementia, or developmental disorders. These difficulties can impact work, relationships, and mental wellbeing. That’s where we come in, to support communication and reduce isolation. We also help with swallowing difficulties (dysphagia), which can affect health, safety, and even the simple joy of sharing a meal or coffee with friends

3) What's the difference between a speech pathologist and a speech therapist?
We often get asked what to call us - and honestly, we’re not too fussed! The official term is speech pathologist, since we’re trained to both diagnose and treat communication and swallowing difficulties. But speech therapist is super common. We’ve also been called speech paths, speechies, and everything in between - and we’re totally okay with that. Call us whatever feels comfortable… just don’t forget we’re here to help!

4) How often will my child need to attend therapy?

Every child is different, so therapy frequency will vary depending on their needs and your goals. After your child’s assessment, our speech pathologist will chat with you about what’s recommended - including how often and how long sessions should be. Most families start with one session a week, along with some fun homework activities to help your child get the most out of therapy.

Our speechies offer flexible appointments - in clinic, at home, or at your child’s school , to suit your lifestyle. We’re a registered NDIS provider, and sessions can also be paid privately or rebated through Medicare.
